How to check at home — three quick steps:
- Measure your dog from the base of the neck to the base of the tail (body length). If your dog’s length is about 28 inches or less, the seat will suit typical medium-dog postures (sitting or curling).
- Measure shoulder height. If your dog’s shoulder height is about 20 inches or less, the seat provides comfortable head and back support during travel.
- Use weight as a secondary check: dogs up to about 50 lbs generally fit well in this seat.
- Fit notes: If your dog likes to fully stretch while riding, add 4–6 inches to your length measurement as a buffer. If your dog curls up, the seat will be roomier than needed. Also measure the available area in your vehicle (flat seat width and depth) to ensure it accommodates your dog’s measured length.
