- How to check fit for your pet: Measure your dog from the floor to the top of the shoulders (shoulder height) and the widest point across the shoulders/chest (shoulder width). If your dog's shoulder height is under 14.57 in and shoulder width is under 16.14 in, the pet can pass comfortably through the frame.
- Quick guidance: This size is best for small to small‑medium dogs and cats — we recommend for dogs up to about ~25 lbs (examples: French Bulldogs, Pugs, Shih Tzus, small terriers) and for most adult cats. Dogs that are deeper‑chested or heavier than ~25 lbs may find this opening too small.

- Have your pet stand squarely on a flat surface.
- Measure shoulder height: from the floor to the top of the shoulders.
- Measure shoulder width: across the widest part of the chest/shoulders (include the front legs).
- Compare those measurements to the outer frame size above and allow about 1 in of extra clearance for comfortable passage.
