- Measure your pet lying naturally: from the base of the neck (where collar sits) to the base of the tail — that is the body length to compare to the mat's longest side.
- Pick a mat at least 3–6 in longer than your pet's body length so they can stretch comfortably; if your pet likes to curl, a mat close to their curled length will work.
- Use the table above: choose Small for very small or curled pets, Large for pets that stretch or for more coverage.
- Lay the mat flat — do not fold or overlap. If in doubt between sizes, choose the larger size for extra coverage.
