How to measure to confirm fit — quick, practical steps:
- Measure the opening you want to block: width across the floor and height from the floor to the top edge you need covered (use inches).
- Measure your dog’s shoulder height (withers) in inches and note whether your dog is a jumper.
- If your dog tends to jump, add 6–12 inches to the shoulder height to choose a barrier height that will contain them comfortably.
If your dog is near the upper end of the recommended weight (~45 lbs) or is an active jumper/climber, consider a taller, heavier-duty barrier designed for large breeds.
