How to pick the right size — quick steps:
- Weigh your pet in pounds (lbs).
- Measure your pet's body length: from the base of the neck (where the collar sits) to the base of the tail. Record in inches.
- Measure shoulder height (floor to top of shoulders) and chest girth (around the widest part of the ribcage) if possible.
- Selection rule: choose the size where your pet's length is equal to or less than the carrier's interior length and the pet's weight is at or below the listed "Best for" guidance. If your pet is between sizes, choose the next size up for comfort and airflow.
Example: a 12 lb dachshund with a 15 in body length should use size M because M's interior length (14.2 in) is close and M is recommended for pets up to ~18 lb — when in doubt pick the larger size for extra room. The carrier's open-top, legs-out style also works well for pets that prefer to extend their legs while being carried.
