How to measure your dog (3 quick steps):
- Measure length: Have your dog stand naturally and measure from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail in inches.
- Measure width: Measure across the widest part of the dog’s body (usually the shoulders) in inches.
- Compare for comfort: Add 6–12 inches to the length measurement for comfortable stretching, and add 2–4 inches to the width. If your dog’s length plus 6 inches and width plus 2 inches fall within a typical large-bed footprint, this Extra Large bed will be comfortable.
- Final check: Measure your dog and make sure the length plus 6 inches is approximately within the bed’s usable sleeping area — for most large dogs under ~90 lbs this Extra Large bed offers ample room to stretch and relax.
