- Measure body length: from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail. Choose a pool with a diameter at least 8–12 in larger than this length so your dog can turn and move comfortably.
- Measure shoulder height: compare it to the pool wall (wall = "Wall Height" above). If your dog's shoulder height is higher than the wall height, they will step in easily; if lower, they may need a ramp or help getting in.
- If between sizes, pick the larger size for extra room and comfort.
