Measurements are taken manually; expect a tolerance of about ±0.4 to ±1.2 in.
- Have your dog stand naturally where they will use the mat. Measure from the tip of the nose to the front paws — choose a mat with length equal to or greater than that distance.
- Measure your dog’s shoulder width (across the widest part of the front legs). The mat width should be at least as wide as this measurement so your dog can comfortably reach treats.
- If your dog lies down while sniffing, measure nose-to-chest length and compare to the mat length. Use the recommended weight/breed guidance above as a quick sanity check.
