- Measure your furniture height: place a ruler or tape from the floor to the top of the seat/cushion (in inches). Match that to the ramp model — 4-step top is about 13.8 in high.
- Know your dog’s weight and shoulder height: weigh your dog and measure from floor to the highest point of the shoulders. Use the recommended weight ranges above as a guide.
- Choose fewer steps for very low furniture or very small dogs; choose more steps for higher furniture or dogs that need a gentler slope.
