- Best for: cats and small dogs up to approximately 25 lbs — examples: kittens, Chihuahuas, Toy Poodles, Pomeranians, Shih Tzus, small terriers, and many adult cats.
- Practical body-size guideline (use to compare to your pet): we recommend this cage for pets with body length up to ~18 inches (nose to base of tail), shoulder height up to ~14 inches, and chest girth up to ~20 inches. If your pet routinely stretches out or prefers extra room, use a lower weight/size than the ranges above.
- If your pet is stocky (broad chest or low build) or close to the upper ranges above, expect a snug fit; energetic or long-bodied pets may prefer more space.
How to measure your pet (quick steps)
- Length: measure from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail (not including the tail).
- Chest girth: measure the widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs.
- Height: measure from the floor to the highest point of the shoulder.
Match your pet's measurements to the practical guideline above. If your pet's measurements are under the guideline, the cage will be a comfortable fit; if near or above, the cage will be tight and better suited for very short stays or smaller pets.
