Quick check — how to confirm it will work for your dog:
- Weigh your dog. If your dog is under ~35 lbs, this mat is a good match.
- Measure shoulder width (widest point across the chest). Dogs with a shoulder width of about 12 inches or less will be able to move comfortably on the mat and access the feeding pockets.
- Check reach: with your dog standing naturally, measure from the tip of the nose to the front paws. If your dog can comfortably reach 8–10 inches, they will be able to forage on the mat while standing beside it or with front paws on the mat.
