- Best for: Dogs that curl up or rest in a compact position. Recommended for medium to large dogs up to about 60 lbs (examples: French Bulldog, Bulldog, Border Collie, many medium Labradors). Not roomy enough for very large breeds that sleep fully stretched (like Great Danes).

- Measure your dog in the position it normally sleeps. If your dog curls, measure from nose to base of tail. If it sleeps stretched out, measure from nose to tail tip.
- If your dog curls and that measurement is about 35 in or less, this 39.4 in bed will give comfortable room to curl and rest. If your dog regularly stretches longer than 39 in, this bed will feel small.
- Remember the raised rim reduces usable flat sleeping area slightly — if your dog likes to sprawl, allow a few extra inches.
