- What that means: At the shortest setting (~21 in) the leash keeps small dogs close to the seat; at the longest setting (~33 in) it allows more movement for medium dogs while still restraining access to the driver area.
- Recommended fit (practical guidance): One adjustable size that works well for most small and medium breeds. Typical examples: small dogs and toy breeds, and many medium breeds when used with a harness. For very large or strong dogs, use with a heavy-duty harness and check the setup before driving.
- How to check it will fit your dog: 1) Put your dog’s harness on and locate the harness D‑ring where you clip a leash. 2) Measure the distance from that D‑ring to the car buckle where you will insert the seat belt clip. 3) If that distance falls between 21 in and 33 in, this seat belt will reach and adjust to a comfortable length. When clipped in, your dog should be able to sit and lie down but not reach the front seat or driver.
