Quick measuring guide — how to check fit:
- Measure your dog's length from the base of the neck to the base of the tail — this should be less than the mat length for a comfortable fit.
- Measure shoulder width (or the widest part of the dog when lying down) to check the mat width.
- Allow extra room: pick a mat that is at least 4–8 in longer than your dog's length so they can stretch out comfortably.
- If your dog curls when sleeping, the width is most important — choose a size that gives a couple inches of clearance around their curled position.
Example: a dog that measures 28 in long typically fits comfortably on the Large (29.5 in) or XL (35.4 in) — choose XL if your dog likes to sprawl.
