- Measure your pet’s body length from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail while they are standing or stretched out.
- Compare that length to the bed’s inner usable space (use the dimensions above). Allow 2–4 in of extra room so your pet can curl comfortably.
- For taller or long‑legged pets also check shoulder height: when lying down they should be able to curl without their spine pressing the sides.
If your pet’s body length plus 2–4 in fits within a size’s smallest dimension above, that size will give a cozy, enclosed fit; choose the next size up if you want more roaming space inside the nest.
