- Measure chest girth: wrap a tape measure around the widest part of the ribcage. Make sure your dog can comfortably fit through the carrier opening — allow about 1–2 in of extra room.
- Also check shoulder height vs. the interior height listed above so your dog can sit comfortably. If your dog is between sizes, pick the larger size for comfort and air flow.
