How to measure your dog (quick):
- Measure length: from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail. Add 2–4 in to this number to pick a comfortable crate length.
- Measure height: from the floor to the top of the shoulder (withers). The crate height should be at least 2–4 in higher than this measurement so your dog can sit comfortably.
- Use the interior dimensions (listed above) to verify fit — interior length is the main number to match to your dog’s length plus the 2–4 in allowance.
If you prefer a guideline: choose the size where your dog’s length + 2–4 in is less than the interior length listed, and your dog’s shoulder height + 2–4 in is less than the interior height.
