- Measure your dog’s snout width: place a ruler across the widest part of the nose. If the snout width is less than the smaller of the bowl’s Length/Width, your dog will comfortably reach the food.
- Consider depth (Height): deeper options (3–4 layer variants) hold more food and increase the challenge for dogs with longer muzzles; choose a shallower option for very short-faced breeds.
