- Measure your pet's widest point (shoulders). This number should be at least 1–2 in smaller than the inner flap width for comfortable passage. Example: if your dog's shoulders are 9 in, the Small's 9.84 in flap will fit with limited clearance; choose Large if you want extra room.
- Measure from the floor to the top of your pet's shoulders (or the top of the head if the head passes first). That height should be less than the inner flap height with about 1–2 in clearance.
- If your pet is between sizes or very stocky, choose the larger size for easier, safer passage.
- Quick check: the inner flap opening (listed above) is the usable space your pet must pass through — match your pet's shoulder width and standing height to those numbers.
