Quick pick rules
- If your pet is mostly resting or playing while seated, choose a pen where the diameter is at least your pet’s body length (nose to base of tail) plus 12 in — this gives room to move and lie down comfortably.
- Choose a pen height at least 6–8 in taller than your pet’s shoulder height to prevent jumping out.
- For multiple small pets, pick the next size up from the recommended single-pet size.
How to measure your dog (quick):
- Measure length: from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail (do not include the tail).
- Measure height: from the floor to the highest point of the shoulder.
- Compare to the table: choose a pen with diameter ≥ (length + 12 in) and height ≥ (shoulder height + 6–8 in).
