Fit guidance — how to confirm this tether will work for your dog
- Intended use: attaches to your car's standard seat belt socket and clips to your dog's harness D-ring. Always attach to a harness, not a collar.
- Measure to check fit: 1) Put your dog in the seat where they will ride, wearing their harness. 2) Locate the harness D-ring and the car seat belt buckle/socket. 3) Use a tape measure and measure the straight-line distance between the D-ring and the buckle/socket. 4) If that measured distance falls between 18.5 and 27.6 inches, this tether will fit when adjusted.
- Adjustment tip: set enough slack for your dog to sit and lie down comfortably but not enough to allow jumping into the front seat — about 6–8 in of slack while seated is a practical starting point.
- If the measured distance is shorter than 18.5 in, position your dog so the harness D-ring is closer to the buckle or use a different anchor point; if longer than 27.6 in, this tether will likely be too short for that placement.
