- Fit recommendation: single universal size designed primarily for small to medium dogs — we recommend for dogs up to about 40 lbs (examples: French Bulldog, Beagle, Cocker Spaniel, Pug, small terriers). Puppies and small adults will find it roomy for sniffing and foraging. Large breeds (Labrador, Golden Retriever, German Shepherd) may find the mat small for full foraging sessions.

How to measure your dog to be sure (quick):
- Shoulder width: measure across the widest part of your dog’s front shoulders. If that width is about 14 inches or less, the mat will be very comfortable; 14–18 inches is usually acceptable for medium breeds.
- Nose-to-shoulder length: measure from the tip of the nose to where the neck meets the shoulders — this shows how much reach your dog needs to forage comfortably.
- Weight: weigh your dog. Dogs under ~40 lbs are the best match for this mat for frequent use.
- Quick at-home check: have your dog sit and place a bath towel or blanket in front of them roughly the size of a dinner placemat. If your dog can sit and reach across that surface while turning their head to search, the mat will work well for them.
