- Not recommended for large breeds or dogs over ~50 lbs (Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds) — these breeds typically need a larger bed.
- Quick fit check (how to measure your dog): 1) Measure your dog from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail while the dog is standing or lying naturally (this is your dog’s length). 2) Add 4–6 in to that length to allow room to stretch and turn. If the total is about the same or smaller than the space you expect the cushion to provide, the bed will be a comfortable fit.
- Weight guideline: if your dog weighs roughly 40 lbs or less, this cushion will typically be appropriate. For dogs between ~40–50 lbs, consider whether your dog curls tightly or stretches out — curlers may still fit comfortably.
